Services — We detail. We fabricate. We install.

Design to install, under one roof.

By keeping every step in-house, we maintain control over quality, schedule, and execution from start to finish. One team, one point of accountability, and one number to call.

How a job moves

Detail, fabricate, ship, install

We don’t hand the work off between companies. The people who model and build your duct are the same people who install it. Every fitting is tracked from the model to the shop to the field, giving us control over the work at every step.

Step 1
Detailers at workstations in the Harris & Hart BIM department, shop drawings on the counter

Detail

Our in-house BIM team models the system, coordinates it with the other trades, and spools it for fabrication.

Step 2
Shop workers moving a coil of sheet steel by overhead hoist

Fabricate

Local 312 sheet metal workers build it in our Ogden shop, about 96,000 pounds of duct and supports a week, under a QA/QC process.

Step 3
Flatbed loaded with large round duct sections, mountains behind

Ship

350 to 400 truckloads a year, sequenced to the install. Stratus tracks each fitting, so you can see what's built, shipped, and installed.

Step 4

Install & verify

Our crews rig, hang, and label the system. Then we check the installed duct against the federated BIM model.

Process exhaust duct

Large-bore duct is our specialty.

At Harris & Hart, large-bore duct fabrication is a core capability. From our 55,000-square-foot facility in Ogden, Utah, we fabricate large-diameter duct systems to meet the demanding requirements of semiconductor fabs and advanced manufacturing facilities.

Our fabrication capabilities range from 2-inch to 172-inch diameter duct, including both galvanized and stainless-steel systems. When a project calls for specialized materials or applications, we also maintain established fabrication and procurement partners for coated stainless steel and FRP systems, giving our customers access to a broader range of solutions while maintaining a single point of coordination.

From large-diameter duct and complex headers to exhaust stacks, laterals, and rooftop runs, our teams take projects from BIM detailing and coordination through fabrication and field installation.

Capabilities
  • Large-diameter round and rectangular duct
  • Galvanized and stainless-steel duct systems
  • Dampers, taps, reducers, and supports
  • Coated stainless-steel procurement and fabrication partners
  • FRP procurement and fabrication partners

Tool installs

Harris & Hart has supported some of the largest and most demanding tool installation scopes in the country. We understand the complexity, coordination, and schedule sensitivity that come with high-volume tool installs—and what it takes to keep a project moving.

Our teams have the capability to deliver and install high volumes of small-bore ductwork across a wide range of tool applications. We work closely with project teams to coordinate routing, interfaces, and installation requirements while maintaining the production rates and milestones these projects demand.

From initial detailing through fabrication, delivery, and field installation, we maintain a disciplined approach to ensure project specifications, P&IDs, and required components are fully coordinated and accounted for.

Capabilities
  • High-volume small-bore duct fabrication and installation
  • Tool-specific ductwork and connections
  • P&ID and specification coordination
  • Detailed scheduling and milestone tracking
  • High-volume, phased installation
  • Coordination with tool owners, general contractors, and other trades

BIM & detailing

On complex projects, accurate BIM coordination is critical to keeping fabrication and installation on schedule. At Harris & Hart, our BIM and detailing work is performed entirely in-house and managed from our Utah headquarters. Our detailers work directly with our fabrication and field teams, allowing questions to be resolved quickly and decisions to stay connected from the model to the finished installation.

We coordinate our duct systems within the federated project model, develop fabrication spools and installation drawings, and detail each system to project specifications and applicable SMACNA standards. Once installation is complete, we verify installed duct locations against the federated BIM model to confirm the work was installed as designed.

Capabilities
  • In-house 3D BIM coordination and detailing
  • Federated model coordination with other trades
  • Detailing to project specifications and SMACNA standards
  • Fabrication spools and installation drawings
  • Field coordination and constructability review
  • Post-installation verification against the BIM model

Shop fabrication

Our 55,000-square-foot fabrication facility in Ogden, Utah produces more than 5 million pounds of ductwork each year—approximately 96,000 pounds every week and the equivalent of 350–400 truckloads annually.

Every piece is fabricated in-house by our Local 312 union sheet metal workers and goes through our QA/QC process before leaving the shop. By controlling fabrication ourselves, we maintain greater control over quality, production, and schedule while eliminating the dependency on outside fabrication shops.

We also sequence fabrication and deliveries around the project schedule, helping ensure the right material reaches the jobsite when the field needs it.

Fabrication capabilities
  • Standard HVAC ductwork
  • Small-bore tool installation duct
  • Large-bore base-build ductwork
  • Duct supports and related sheet metal components
  • Galvanized and stainless-steel fabrication
  • Project-specific fabrication and delivery sequencing

Field installation

Our union sheet metal crews take our work from the fabrication shop to the finished installation. They understand that successful field installation requires more than hanging duct—it requires coordination, planning, safety, and the ability to adapt to the realities of a complex jobsite.

Every project brings its own challenges, from access and material handling to sequencing, weather, and coordination with other trades. Our field teams are experienced in working through those challenges while maintaining the schedule, installation quality, and project requirements.

We take a disciplined approach to every installation, from safely preparing the work area and handling fabricated spools to setting, aligning, connecting, and identifying each component in the field.

Field capabilities
  • Union sheet metal installation crews
  • Material handling, rigging, lifts, and hoisting
  • Duct setting, alignment, and connection
  • Coordination with other trades and project sequencing
  • System identification and component tagging
  • Jobsite safety and quality control

HVAC ductwork

Harris & Hart began by building HVAC systems for schools, hospitals, and commercial facilities—and that experience remains an important part of who we are today.

Our teams detail, fabricate, and install complete HVAC duct systems, using in-house BIM coordination to identify and resolve conflicts before they reach the field. By coordinating the work in the model, we help reduce rework, improve installation efficiency, and keep projects moving.

HVAC capabilities
  • Supply, return, and exhaust duct systems
  • In-house BIM layout and trade coordination
  • Spiral and rectangular ductwork
  • Custom fittings and project-specific fabrication
  • Procurement of inline equipment
  • Fabrication and installation by our union crews

How we run jobs

Tools and methods

We keep adding tools that improve delivery, safety, and cost control, alongside methods we've refined over three decades.

01

Stratus tracking

Stratus shows where every fitting is, whether in detailing, in the shop, or in the field. That gives you accurate billing, delivery dates, and progress reports.

02

Safety 101

We track safety metrics and trends across every job, so we can enforce protocols and act on data instead of waiting for incidents. Safety

03

Proven methods

Our own fabrication and installation methods, developed over decades, keep quality up and installs moving, even in complex custom environments.
