Safety — Everyone owns a role

Everyone goes home safely.

At Harris & Hart, safety is everyone's responsibility—from our owners and leadership team to every person in the field. We build safety into the way we plan, coordinate, fabricate, and install our work.

Leadership on-site

Our owners and leadership team regularly visit our jobsites—not just to oversee the work, but to stay connected with the people doing it. They talk directly with our crews, listen to what's working and what isn't, and make sure our field teams have the resources and support they need to do the job safely and effectively.

We provide ongoing safety training, current equipment, and the tools necessary to meet the demands of the jobsite. Just as importantly, we maintain an open line of communication between the field and the office, using what we learn on every project to continually improve how we work.

Programs

Daily safety

None of our safety programs are designed to be flashy or complicated. They are practical, proven, and part of how we operate every day, on every jobsite.

We believe consistency is what makes a safety program effective. The same expectations, communication, and accountability follow us from project to project, creating a culture where safety is built into the work—not added after the fact.

01

Stretch & Flex

Crews warm up together before work starts to cut down on strains and soft-tissue injuries.

02

Work plans

We write out the scope, sequence, and hazards before the crew mobilizes.

03

Pre-task plans

Before each task, the crew reviews the hazards and controls for that specific piece of work.

04

Safety recognition

We recognize the people who work safely and speak up when something isn't right.

05

Safety tracking

We use the Safety 101 platform to track safety metrics and trends across every job site, enforce protocols, and make decisions from the data.

06

A dedicated safety manager

Our corporate safety manager, Coleton Doman, runs risk assessments, audits, and training company-wide. He is an OSHA 500 trainer and a rigging and signaling instructor.

Recognition

Safety awards

Most of our safety recognition happens at the project level and goes straight to the crews who earned it. These are recent company awards.
